A Delicious Taste of Italy Close to Home
The Husband and I were in the wonderful city of NY one Thursday afternoon for a taping of the Match Game and decided to treat ourselves to a tasty late lunch / early dinner (however you choose to look at it) at the wonderful Pappardella Restaurant.
Upon entering any NY restaurant you never know what to expect; some are extremely dark and cramped, others open and bright. This one did not disappoint. We were greeted immediately, brought to our table, and then offered water and given the day’s specials by our friendly and attentive server, Angelica.
If you have been reading these reviews you would know the Husband is about 98% gluten free, whereas I am maybe 80% give or take a few pieces of bread. Well this time we only ordered from the GF menu and I have to say everything was delicious!! First, for “appetizers” we ordered the garlic bread (on ciabatta bread), tomato bruschetta and classic margherita pizza. For our entrees I opted for the pasta bolognese with beef & broccoli and the Husband chose the chicken parmigiana. Both dishes bursting with flavor! We didn’t stop there though – for dessert we shared the chocolate torta (or maybe he ate most of it) and each enjoyed a glass of Moscato d Asti.
If you are in the NYC area, definitely check out the fantastic Pappardella – the decor, service, food and overall experience is worth it!!
