The Lone Bull Pancake & Steak House

A Local Stop For Breakfast
The Lone Bull Pancake & Steak House has been a staple in the Lake George region for almost 50 years and from what we heard, recently acquired new ownership.  After seeing the shocking total on our bill, I’m thinking this new management is responsible.

With the early hours of 7AM – 1PM, this is a decent place to stop while passing through to enjoy (a semi-pricey) breakfast (pricey for what little we ordered anyway).  The hostess and staff were friendly and nice, but when we entered there were only a few occupied tables and it still took a few minutes before our server greeted us to take our order.  After the initial hello, she was on the ball.

As for the food – well, I can’t say I was disappointed with my homemade cinnamon raisin French toast drizzled with vanilla glaze and eggs over easy (although the eggs were a little greasy for my liking), but I wasn’t too thrilled that nothing else came with the meal (I didn’t even ask for any meat).  The husband ordered a create-your-own egg white omelet with peppers and cheese (which could have been presented a little better) with home fries, only to find out later that there was a separate charge for the potatoes (which were overly charred).
PS:  We are by no means cheap, but any place we go for breakfast usually allows substitutes or includes things like home fries or fruit with their meals.

Also, the decor could use a bit of an uplift or attention as it looks like it probably did back when the restaurant was first constructed, however, it still gave off that mountain-lodge vibe.  Something to remember is that they only accept cash, so make sure to have some on hand.

Listen, I really do not like giving poor reviews but I do like to be as honest as possible.  Either way, I always believe that every place deserves a chance.
